City: Petach Tikvah
The Rabin Medical Center (RMC) in Petach Tikvah is Israel’s largest medical center. This teaching and training hospital has served as a forerunner in Israel in all areas of medical research and patient care. Among its many specialties are open-heart surgery and neurosurgery, as well as heart, liver and kidney transplants.
Built around the original Beilinson Hospital, RMC treats the largest number of cancer patients in Israel and has performed more organ transplants than any other medical facility in the country. It is the only facility nationally that performs lung transplantation. RMC was the first medical center in Israel to perform a liver-lobe transplant from a related living donor to transplant a kidney between an Arab patient and a Jewish patient. In the process, RMC introduced a new technique of catheterization of brain blood vessels and conducted the first robot-assisted cardiothoracic operation.
In addition to first-rate medical care, RMC is renowned for scientific research, technological development, and medical achievements. Affiliated with Tel-Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, RMC collaborates with some of the world’s largest and most esteemed medical centers.
